The Heather Reisz Memorial Scholarships, for new members to the prospect development field, are offered in honor of one of NEDRA’s most active and beloved members.  Heather loved prospect research and served as a mentor to many, sharing her knowledge, support, and advice.  She was especially fond of newcomers to the field and she developed training sessions in prospect research fundamentals.

The Heather Reisz Memorial Scholarships will be awarded to two eligible recipients (working in the profession for two years or less). These scholarships, which are need-blind, will cover the cost of registration for the Annual Conference, a Research Basics Bootcamp, and a one-year NEDRA membership. Travel expenses will also be reimbursed up to $300.  Applicants are not required to be current NEDRA members.

If you have any questions, please contact scholarships@nedra.org.

Applications are accepted year-round.  Applications for the 2022 Conference are due on Friday, February 11, 2022.

Application Instructions and Checklist:

Qualified applicants should have two years or less experience in prospect research/prospect development for a nonprofit organization. A committee of NEDRA board members and volunteers selects two recipients on the basis of the candidates’ resumes, personal statements, and references.  Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously participated in a Research Basics Bootcamp or the Annual Conference.

Applicants should complete the application form below and include a concise statement (up to 1,000 words) describing: (a) how attending the NEDRA Conference and Research Basics Bootcamp would help you in your career as a researcher and (b) how you discovered/entered the field of prospect research. Applicants should also provide a copy of their resume and a letter of recommendation, preferably from your current supervisor.
